HEALTH CANADA-LASER EYE SURGERY ARTICLE

  1. The types of vision problems caused by refraction errors that are corrected by laser eye surgery are: 1- Myopia( near sightedness), 2- Hyperopia( far sightedness), 3- astigmatism( distorted vision when looking at objects at any distance), 4- and prespyobia.

  2. The part pf the eye that plays a large part of the eye's ability to fovus is the light sensitive layer in the back of the eye.

  3. There are four types of of laser procedure. The PRK, LASIK, LASEK, & Epi-LASIK. PRK: first the outer layer of the cornea removed. Then the laser is used to vaporize some tissues to reshape the cornea and correct vision. LASIK: the flap is removed, then calculated amounts of tissue are vaporized by laser then tha flap is pout back. LASEK: this surgery is a mix of the PRK & LASIK together. first the outer layer of the cornea is cut off. Then alcohol is used to loosen and lift it in a single layer. Then the laser is directed at tissue under the epilithium.

  4. The benifits of all the procedures is that it corrects the eye vision. Make u get rid of using glasses or contacts. The risks are alot actually. With the PRK, the risks include: pain, hazy vision during the healing process, regression. With LASIK, there is less post-operative pain but there greater complications than just that, it includes: dry eyes, poor quality if night vision due to the glare which could affect your ability to drive at night, corneal ectasia, corneal infection. The more recent LASEK surgery shares some problems associated with both PRK( pain, haze, and regression) and LAZIK. However, the LASEK procedure reduces the risk of the complications associated with cutting flap in the cornea, such as weakening the eye and dry eyes.

  5. Before deciding on doing an eye procedure u should put in mind your life style and definitly the history of your family regarding any eye desease. You should also ask your surgeant about this procedure and if its going to work for certain people with special sitiuations. If you play any kind of sports u might considre that the flap might fall of if you get hit in it.

  6. Well no i wouldnt choose to have an eye surgery don because basically its has too many risks that it makes you forget about the benifits and its just too much complications. However, if i choose to do an eye procedure i would do the LASEK because it has less complications and less risks to worry about.

CONSUMING.....

  • My carbon foot print is 37.53 tonns per annum.

  • I am living as if we had 6.11 planets to support us.

  • Travelling is my highest co2 emission.

  • First i will reduce my travelling, and maybe try to use less stuff in my life, and recycle more and consume less to make earth a better planet for me and for the next generation.

AN INCONVINIENT TRUTH.....

2. The atmosphere is considered the most vulnerable part of the earth system. In fact its vulnerable and thin enough that humans are capable of changing its composition.
3. The atmosphere is as thick as a coat of varnish.
4. Trapping infrared radiation could be a good thing because its keeps the temperature of the earth livable and between certain limits.
5. Trapping infrared radiation is a bad thing becuse it heats up the atmosphere which couses global warming.

6.

7. 40% of people depend on glacial melt for their drinking water.

8. Studying ice cores is important because you could know through that ice the amount of co2 that was in the specific year.

9. The relationship between carbon dioxide and the atmospheric temperature is that the more carbon dioxide there is in the atmosphere the hotter it gets.

10. The hottest 10 years were 1990, 1991, 1995, 1997, 1998 1999, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004.

FISHHHHHHHHHHH

Ok so Mr. Sai i am so sorry for the delay of my work but i swear the internet wasnt working and it just worked now. I even went to an internet cafe in the place i live in but the internet was off in the whole neibourhood without an aapparant reason.

1st day with the fish: The fish is doing great. The plant is doing good too. But i am afraid the fish will die soon because its movement is so quick as if its going insane. the plants have some blck stuff on the leaves but i am asuming nothing is going wrong with the plants since the roots are growing longer.

2nd day with the fish: The fish and the plants are fine. the fish is still swimmiong insanley fast. the roots are growing faster.......At night the fish died without any obvious reason everything seem finw in the bottle bas defintly not with the fish

30th of november: going to get the new fish i was just waiting to see wat is going on with the fish.

pictures will be downloaded later.

THE STORY OF STUFF

1-List 1o things you can do to help create sustainability.
  • Recycling

  • Less consuming

  • Waste less stuff.

  • Use the stuff more than once if you can

  • Dont consume the same stuff over and over if the first one is already in perfect shape.

  • Everyone on earth get united for one purpose, save the earth.

  • Reduce energy used around you in your life.

  • Go by bus to school instead of the car that waste gas, space, and prodeces pollution.

  • Talk to people about consuming and how its killing the earth.

  • LOVE YOUR PLANET.

2-Write an example of four of the following concepts:

  • An example of renewable energy is: Solar Energy

  • An example of green chemistry is: Supramolecular chemistry

  • An example of zero waste is: Recycling.

  • An example of a closed loop production is: Hydro-electricity

The countries that are doing some of those activities already are U.S.A & Canada. Mostly third world countries.

DEFORMED FROGS

1- Deformed frogs have been found in 54 counties in Minnesota.
2- The EPA conference was held in Duluth.
3- Yes this is an environmental problem. however, since scientists don't know what to name it, they say that what affects frogs might affect humans as well since humans and frogs are both vertebrates.
4- No deformed frogs are not able to feed themselves or escape from predators because they have compromised limbs.
5- Frogs with missing legs, frogs with extra legs, frogs with misshapen legs, frogs with paralyzed legs sucked out of their body in odd places, frogs with legs webbed together with extra skin, frogs with legs fused to their body, & frogs with legs split in two haves way down.
6- The most memorable specimen David Hoppe and his team found was that the mink frogs, the species wit the most deformations, spend more time in the water than any other frog species.
7- Hoppe's most important find was in Crow Wing County.
8- Hoppe found five species of abnormalities in frogs.
9- The species with the highest incidence of deformity is Mink Frogs at 50% of the total frogs with deformities.
10- The two theories are:
- The frogs become infested with naturally occur in parasites
- Chemical Pollution.
